For over a week, settlers have been besieging Palestinian homes in the village of Qusra in the occupied West Bank, where approximately 15 people, including women and children, reside. Their aim is to force the residents to leave their land so the settlers can seize it. The settlers have cut off water and electricity, refusing to allow anyone to enter or leave. They have also damaged property, pelted homes with stones, and hurled insults at the residents. This is all happening with the complicity of the occupation army. It should be noted that these homes are located in Area B, as defined by the Oslo Accords, and are under the administrative control of the Palestinian Authority. However, the settlers' presence has effectively isolated them from the rest of Qusra village.
Settlement expansion in the West Bank witnessed a significant escalation during 2025 and 2026, with the confiscation of thousands of dunams of land and the displacement of their owners to construct thousands of settlement units and expand dozens of other outposts established by settlers throughout the West Bank.
A UN official reported that in 2026 alone, approximately 3,800 Palestinians, nearly half of them children, were displaced due to settler violence, demolitions, and evictions. Last Wednesday, the far-right finance minister, Smotrich, announced a major expansion of more than 2,000 homes in three Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
In Jenin, 27 Palestinian buildings were recently demolished in preparation for re-establishing settlements in the area. Settlers also re-established the Ganim settlement 21 years after its evacuation as part of the 2005 disengagement plan agreed by the Jewish entity. The occupation forces closed the entrances and side roads along the main road leading to the settlement to provide protection for the settlers and their leaders involved in its re-establishment, including the ministers of war and communications, and members of the Knesset. This is redrawing the map of the Jenin governorate, imposing new realities on the ground that will fragment the governorate and transform it into something resembling military barracks. This will increase the frequency of attacks and confrontations and threaten the geographical contiguity between Palestinian towns.
All of this occurs with the complicity of the occupying army, which allows settlers to seize land and resources throughout the West Bank with impunity, even in areas where they (Palestinian land owners) possess ownership documents issued by the Jewish entity. The settlers have been emboldened by their extremist government, headed by Netanyahu, which has spearheaded a rapid expansion of settlements in the West Bank, accompanied by attacks on Palestinians and military measures including the establishment of checkpoints, road closures, and restrictions on the movement of farmers.
A UN official stated that settler violence has reached unprecedented levels. The head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that ‘Israeli’ occupation forces and settlers carried out approximately 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their lands, and their property during the month of July. These attacks alone have resulted in the deaths of nearly 20 Palestinians since the beginning of the year (the youngest being a 13-year-old child), in addition to the forced displacement of thousands of civilians from their homes and communities in the West Bank, nearly half of whom are children.
On Friday, Defense (War) Minister Katz announced the transfer of law enforcement powers in West Bank settlements to the police under the so-called Ministry of National Security, headed by the far-right politician Ben-Gvir. This move signifies increased violence and the de facto annexation of the West Bank.
As usual, the Palestinian Authority's response, at best, is limited to condemnation, calls for international intervention and intervention from major powers to provide international protection, and documentation of violations to be submitted to international human rights and judicial institutions!
The more the rulers and armies fail to support the Blessed Land and its people, the more arrogant and insolent the usurping Jewish entity becomes. And the more corrupt and complicit the Palestinian Authority becomes, the more the settlers' false courage persists, for they know that no one will stand against them except the unarmed inhabitants, armed only with pride and dignity.
O officers and soldiers of the armies:
How long will you remain in this state of silence, inaction, and negligence?!
Supporting the Deen and its people, and aiding the oppressed, is your duty. Failing to do so is not merely negligence, but could be a reason for the application of the divine law of replacement. Therefore, work to remove these rulers who stand as an insurmountable barrier to the establishment of Allah's rule on earth, lest you be among those described in this noble verse:
[وَإِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْماً غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوا أَمْثَالَكُمْ]
“[If you ˹still˺ turn away, He will replace you with another people. And they will not be like you” [TMQ Muhammad: 38]. Then you lose both this world and the Hereafter!
