 Press Release
The Cause of Pakistan’s Internal Security Crisis Is the Failure of the “Nation-State” and the Identity Based Upon It. The Nationalistic Identity Is Incapable of Merging Different Ethnicities and Regional Identities into a Single Entity! Only the Khilafah and the Islamic Aqeedah Can Bind Different Peoples Together into One Ummah!

On 24 July 2026, once again, Muslim blood was spilled as security personnel were killed, this time fourteen of them in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in District Tank. In just the past few months, incidents of insecurity in the tribal areas and Balochistan, as well as the recent protests in Azad Kashmir, have claimed the lives of dozens of security personnel and civilians. Despite the media blackout and censoring of these casualties, this internal security crisis is no less severe than the economic crisis.

These crises have shaken the state from within and, in some cases, have provided hostile countries with an open opportunity to interfere in our affairs. Although these security crises may appear different on the surface, they all, in reality, stem from the failure of the political concept of nationalism emerging from the nation-state, and the identity based on territorial patriotism. A nationalistic identity founded upon territorial patriotism is incapable of integrating diverse ethnic and regional identities, because the concept of nationalism itself divides people on the basis of regional identity.

In origin, territorial patriotism is a lowly and irrational sentimental bond because it is found even among animals that are devoid of reason and intellect. Establishing a nationalistic identity on the basis of lines drawn by the British is a Western concept of disbelief. Islam severely warns against such Asabiyyah established upon this basis. Pakistan’s early political leaders were well aware that it was impossible to unify diverse ethnic and regional identities through a nationalism based on territory.

Therefore, they attempted to unite the people upon the basis of the Islamic Aqeedah and rallied them under the slogan, “What is the meaning of Pakistan? La ilaha illa Allah.” However, this slogan has now lost its appeal and effectiveness for two reasons:

Firstly: For the past 78 years, the rulers have never implemented Islam. Instead, under the guise of the secular principle of freedom of worship, they have attempted to deceive the people into believing that Islam has been implemented. In reality, Pakistan’s constitution, its laws, and the entire state structure are based upon the secular system of disbelief, and the people have come to understand this reality.

Secondly: The question continues to echo in people’s minds: Why are the Muslims of Gaza, Burma, East Turkestan, or Afghanistan not one Ummah with us on the basis of the Kalimah? Why are those who profess La ilaha illa Allah beyond the border lines drawn by the British considered outside the Pakistani nationalistic identity? Is not their Kalimah the same as ours? Did Allah (swt) not command all Muslims to unify under the Bay'ah of one Ameer and one Khalifah? Did the Messenger of Allah (saw) not say,

«إِذَا بُويِعَ لِخَلِيفَتَيْنِ فَاقْتُلُوا الْآخَرَ مِنْهُمَا» “If Bay'ah is given to two Khulafaa, then kill the latter of them.” (Sahih Muslim). However, for the past 78 years, the rulers have continued to deceive the Muslims of Pakistan under the pretext of, “Let us first strengthen ourselves, and then we will address this matter later.”

Thus, the absence of a strong “nationalistic identity” has completely failed to unify the Muslims of Baluchistan, Kashmir and the Pashtun tribal regions, and this same phenomenon is now spreading to other regions. Instead of seeking a political and intellectual solution to this political and intellectual problem, the state has chosen to respond with guns and bullets, calling it the “hard state” approach. We ask: Can anyone be forced into an imposed identity through the use of force? How can the baton, the gun, and the bullet possibly be regarded as a long-term solution to this issue? Is this not proof that the rulers and this system have become intellectually and politically bankrupt?

Identity on the basis of Islam can bring an end to Pakistan’s security crises and also unify the Muslim regions under one Kalimah. The complete implementation of Islam will bring the tribal fighters back into the fold of the state, revive the sacrifices of the people of Kashmir and detach them from separatist sentiments, separate the Baloch Muslims from secular and socialist separatists and reconnect them with the state, paving the way for integrating the Muslims of Afghanistan under one Khilafah, which will continue to expand until it encompasses the entire Islamic Ummah. The path to establishing the identity of Islam as one Ummah is the establishment of a Khilafah, which is the single state of all Muslims and implements Islam completely. Hizb ut Tahrir in the Wilayah of Pakistan calls upon all aware people to step forward and join Hizb ut Tahrir in the struggle to establish the Khilafah, and calls upon the people of military power and protection to grant nussrah (نصرة military support) to Hizb ut Tahrir for the re-establishment of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood.

Allah (swt) said,

“And hold firmly to the Rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you: when you were enemies, He united your hearts, and by His favor you became brothers. And you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it.” [TMQ Surah Aal 'Imran: 103].
