When Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen addressed the Social Democratic Party’s annual conference in Aalborg on September 12, 2026, her message, directed at Muslim men, included the following: "You, the modern man who would never dream of hitting your children, who would never dream of forcing your daughter to wear a headscarf, or otherwise interfering in who she dates.

One has to look far back to find a single day when there was not, either from the government or the opposition, a new hateful attack launched against Islam and Muslims. In the past ten days alone, we have seen the following displays of Islamophobia from the government:
