Obituary of a Carrier of the Dawah
Alaa al-Din Özdemir
(Translated)

[مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُ
وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلاً]

“Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance], and they did not alter [the terms] in the least.” [Al-Ahzab:23]

Alaa al-Din Özdemir

Alaa al-Din Özdemir dedicated himself from his youth to working for the resumption of the Islamic way of life. He spent more than sixty years of his life carrying the Islamic Dawah, remaining steadfast upon it until the end of his life at the age of eighty-two. He participated in Dawah activities in Turkey and in a number of European countries, and despite suffering from severe illnesses, he never allowed them to prevent him from continuing his efforts in carrying the Dawah.

We bear witness that Alaa al-Din Özdemir, one of the distinguished carriers of the Dawah, devoted his entire life to the cause of resuming the Islamic way of life and working for the establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly Guided Caliphate). We knew him as a Muslim who continued participating in Dawah activities even when he was no longer able to walk. Through his determination and sincerity, he was a role model for the youth striving in the path of Islam.

We ask Allah Almighty to envelop him in His vast mercy, grant his family beautiful patience, and extend our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to his relatives, loved ones, and brothers in the Dawah.

[إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ]

“Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” [Al-Baqarah:156]
