The Failure of the Economy is a Matter of Legislation, Not Administration
“Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Prof. Ahsan Iqbal said... Pakistan must break the recurring cycle of “boom, external account pressure, stabilization and slowdown” by restructuring the economy around productivity and exports. (Press Information Department, 28 August 2026)
The Federal Minister’s address is a clear example of the intellectual bankruptcy of Pakistan’s ruling elites. The failure of the economy is not an administrative glitch that can be fixed with better consulting. Instead, it is the outcome of adopting the legislation of capitalism and colonialism.
Currency devaluation, the privatization of energy and minerals, the privatization of state manufacturing, increasing budget allocations for debt servicing to pay riba (interest), reducing budget allocations for security, health and education, and increasing universal regressive taxation all reduce the stability and independence of the economy. As for export focus, it is another tool of colonialism, based on the model of the transnational economy, in which Pakistan exports low value goods, whilst importing high value vehicles, machinery and electronics.
In contrast, the Shariah legislation establishes a stable currency based on gold and silver, makes energy and minerals public property whose wealth is spent on the needs of the community, establishes a state-led focus on the machine industry to ensure import substitution and high value exports, forbids riba (interest) payments, consider security, health and education as Shariah obligations upon the state treasury and spends from Shariah mandated revenues, such as revenues from public property, Kharaj on agricultural land and Zakah on industrial products, without taxing the poor and indebted.
The Muslims of Pakistan must turn away from the secular ruling elites who insist on the implementation of capitalist and colonialist legislation, unleashing worsening economic ruin over decades. Pakistan needs a new leadership that governs according to the Shariah legislation that pleases Allah (swt). Let the Muslims strive with the shebaab (members) of Hizb ut Tahrir for the establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate).
The Prophetic Sunnah Regarding Military Weaponry Prevents Critical Security Liabilities
DHAKA, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Bangladesh is moving closer to formal negotiations with China over a possible purchase of J-10CE fighter jets and attack helicopters, with a government panel preparing a draft agreement, the Prime Minister's Information and Broadcasting Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman said.
The Prophetic Sunnah establishes the acquisition of military technology from the disbelievers, but without making the Muslims dependent on them. Al-Waqidi (الواقدي) states in his “Book of History and Military Campaigns” (كتاب التاريخ والمغازي) that, (وَيُقَالُ: خَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَدِمَ مِنْ جُرَشَ بِمَنْجَنِيقٍ وَدَبّابَتَيْنِ) “It is also said that Khalid ibn Sa‘id arrived from Jurash with a mangonel catapult and two siege shelters.” This was during the siege of Ta’if (طائف) and before the Islamic conquest of Yemen. Jurash was located in Yemen and was renowned for the manufacture of weapons.
The Muslims then established domestic manufacture of siege shelters and catapults and other military weaponry, without any dependence on the disbelievers whatsoever, paving the way to conquer Yemen itself.
For centuries, Muslims led the world in military technology. They were able to wage war against the tyranny of the disbelievers without dependence on them, to the point that China itself was compelled to pay financial tribute to the Khilafah (Caliphate).
However, today, the rulers buy weapons from colonialist powers that wage war on Islam and occupy Muslim Lands, as China has done in East Turkestan (تركستان الشرقية Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region).
Thus, these Ruwaibadah (incompetent) rulers embed dangerous security liabilities within the armed forces of the Muslims, whether it is the import of jet engines, high precision spare parts or military-grade software. Regarding industrial independence, the Islamic Ummah has neither a shortage of brilliant sons and daughters, nor a lack of abundance of energy and minerals. It only lacks an Imam ruling by the Book of Allah (swt) and the Sunnah of the Messenger (saw). The Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) will establish a domestic machine industry on an urgent basis, by the Permission of Allah (swt).
Call On the Islamic Ummah for Unification Under One Imam Ruling by the Deen
New York, IRNA – Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, Gholamhossein Darzi, has “called on all States to reject and denounce the extraterritorial application of unilateral coercive measures by the United States regime aimed at compelling Member States to subordinate their sovereign rights and lawful policies to those of another State.” (Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) 26 August 2026)
Even though the US launched Operation Economic Outcast to compel states to boycott Iran, the regime in Iran is making the fatal mistake of persisting in its nationalism and sectarianism. Instead of calling on all states on the basis of international law, the rulers of Iran must strive for the unification of all the Muslim states under one Imam.
The first step is the establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah in Iran, implementing the Shariah Law of Allah (swt), leading the unification of all the economic and military resources of the entire Ummah under one Imam and raising the Word of Allah as the highest through Dawah and Jihad. Nothing less will prevent the ruin of Iran at the hands of the Pharoah Trump, as well as the ruin of all Muslim states under his vision of the New Middle East.
Allah (swt) said, [وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا] “Hold fast to the rope of Allah and do not be divided.” [TMQ Surah Aali Imran 3: 103]. Ibn Kathir stated in his Tafsir that, أمرهم بالجماعة ونهاهم عن التفرقة “He (swt) orders the Muslims to be a single community and He (swt) forbids them from dividing.” This verse is an evidence that Muslims are obliged to gather, unified, within a single entity. So let Iran lead the Islamic Ummah in smashing the idols of nationalism and sectarianism.
Permanence in Independence Needs Implementation of the Shariah Law of Allah (swt)
Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei said regional countries would determine their own future, stressing that the United States would have no place in the region’s future. (Iranian Students’ News Agency 25 August 2026)
The implementation of the Shariah Law alone prevents interference from foreign states in the future of the Muslim World on a permanent base. After the establishment of the Islamic state in Al-Madinah by the Prophet (saw), the ruling governance, judiciary, the army, the revenues and expenditures of the state treasury and foreign relations were all in accordance with the Shariah Law of Allah (swt). The Khulafaa Rashidun prevented any influence of the Romans and Persians through the implementation of Islam.
For centuries, the lands of Muslims knew of no other law other than the Shariah Law to the extent that the lands of present day of Iran were a center for Islamic fiqh and its language Arabic. The rich abundance of fiqh prevented a legislative vacuum that could be filled by the laws of the disbelievers. Armed with the essential for independence, the implementation of Shariah Law, the Khilafah expanded rapidly, removing tyrants and relieving the burdens of the oppressed through the implementation of the Deen of Islam.
So today, how can any Muslim state, including Iran, hope for independence from disbelievers when its economy is based on the capitalism of the disbelievers, its ruling governance is the republican democracy of the disbelievers and its foreign relations is based on the international law of the disbelievers? Until and unless constitutions, laws and policies are all rooted in the firm foundation of the Noble Quran and Prophetic Sunnah, talk of independence is misleading rhetoric. Material strength opens the door for independence from disbelievers, but the implementation of the Deen keeps it open for decades and centuries.
Make Pakistan and Iran the Nucleus of the Second Khilafah Rashidah
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces, along with Minister for Interior Mr Mohsin Naqvi, concluded a day-long visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, as part of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to end the stalemate in the ongoing US-Iran conflict. (Inter-Services Public Relations of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, Rawalpindi - August 25, 2026 No PR-190/2026-ISPR)
There is no stalemate. America resorted to its usual tactics of killing, destruction, and bombardment against Iran. When these methods failed to yield results, it tasked the rulers of Pakistan with overseeing negotiations with Iran.
There is no stalemate. War on Iran worsened deep political and military divisions within the U.S., triggering numerous dismissals and resignations. There is huge public outcry in America demanding an end to the war, due to the economic damage caused by soaring energy prices. The American manufacturing sector requires years to address depletion in ammunition stockpiles.
There is no stalemate. Whilst America possesses the military capabilities to deliver a decisive massive military strike, it would suffer exhaustion that jeopardizes its status as the world’s leading power. Moreover, America cannot shield the Gulf from Iranian counter-strikes which can trigger regional, and even global, chaos beyond America’s control.
Thus, the rulers of Pakistan are striving to rescue the US from its quagmire, not end any stalemate. However, had they sided with Iran from the beginning, the Muslims could have forced the permanent retreat of the US military from the Muslim World.
O Muslims! The Muslims in Iran alone launched strikes against America and its protégé, the Jewish entity, inflicting real pain, exposing their weakness and humiliation; for despite possessing vast military hardware, they lack the mettle of true men. So, what if the Muslims of Iran and Pakistan abandoned sectarianism and nationalism and established the Second Khilafah Rashidah, as the nucleus for the unification of the entire Muslim World?
A Matter of Sovereignty (سيادة Siyyaadah), Not Just Authority (سلطان Sultan) Alone
ISLAMABAD, Aug 22 (APP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Saturday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its founder’s sisters have been committing contempt of the court by actively politicizing his health and disrupting his medical care.
In recent weeks, the conflict for authority in Pakistan between the military factions and civilian factions has intensified, extending into the media, political medium, security protocols and the judiciary. However, regardless of the resolution of the current conflict the situation of the Muslims of Pakistan will worsen in economic misery, foreign humiliation and deprivation of their Deen. It is the same sad story witnessed by the Muslims since the creation of Pakistan.
From the perspective of the Deen, the root problem in Pakistan lies in siyyadah (sovereignty), not sultan (authority) alone. It is not simply a matter of who rules, it is a matter of by what law do they rule. Sovereignty determines the source of law and the law itself, whilst authority determines the choice of ruler. Sovereignty is tied to legislation (tashree’) to determine what is legal and illegal, whilst authority is tied to ruling by consent and choice.
In the current Muslim states, including Pakistan, the sovereignty is for the people, which is a concept from Western democracy. Democracy grants human beings the right to decide what is permitted and what is forbidden. So, in democracy laws are determined by the judgements, whims and desires of a parliament. However, in Islam, sovereignty is for Allah (swt) Alone, which means that He decides what is permitted (Halal) and what is forbidden (Haram). Allah (swt) said,
[وَأَنِ ٱحۡكُم بَيۡنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ وَٱحۡذَرۡهُمۡ أَن يَفۡتِنُوكَ عَنۢ بَعۡضِ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيۡكَۖ] “And judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires, and beware of them lest they tempt you away from some of what Allah has revealed to you.” [TMQ Surah Al-Mā’idah: 49]. So, in the Khilafah, laws are determined by their evidencing from the Noble Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah, and what they both indicate of Unanimous Consensus of the Companions and the Qiyas. So the elected representatives of the Majlis Ul-Ummah cannot make the Halal into Haram through a majority vote, whilst the elected Khaleefah cannot make Haram into Halal through his insistence upon obedience.
O Muslims of Pakistan! Turn your faces away from the fruitless conflict over who rules you by flawed man-made laws. Strive sincerely for the re-establishment of Islam as a ruling governance, such that each law you are governed by is rooted in the firm foundation of the Deen that Allah chose for us.
