Uganda Should Deal With Real Enemies, Not Expulsion of Turks
News:
On 9th September 2026, Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces and the son of Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba issued a directive through his official social media accounts ordering all Turkish nationals to leave Uganda immediately, and a protest to press this measure has been planned at the Turkish Embassy on September 18 2026.
Comment:
General Muhoozi’s declaration partly centers on dispute of Ugandan government critic and blogger Fred Lumbuye, who is currently based in Turkey whereby Uganda has previously demanded that Turkish authorities hand him over to Uganda or expel him.
This undeserving smear campaign against Turks in Uganda seemed to go far, despite the facts that Uganda has enjoyed relations with Turkey for years, with active bilateral cooperation in trade, infrastructure, education, manufacturing, hospitality sectors, etc. What appears in this Ugandan anti-Turkey directive is simply a product of hate and fear of Museveni’s government on Islam, being influenced by Western evil campaigns against Islam and Muslims.
Through Western campaigns, Uganda openly supports the Jewish entity’s genocidal action which has been denounced globally and has declared her intentions to send troops to Gaza for the so-called peacekeeping, which in the real sense is to help the Jewish entity to subjugate the people of Palestine. Also, General Muhoozi has several times vividly made statements on supporting American attacks on Iran. So who is the worst deserving expulsion in Uganda between Turkey and USA with her military base (the Jewish entity)?
Not to mention Uganda’s brutality and atrocity campaign against Muslims and Islam in the name of fighting terrorism under American order, which does not deter the growing of Islam in Uganda, to the extent that between 2014 and 2024, the Muslim population has swollen from 4.66 million to 6.05 million.
Islam reached Uganda earlier during the Buganda Kingdom era from the East African coast. Muslim preachers and traders, mainly Arabs, native of the East African coast, and later Turkey, influenced the spread of Islam in East Africa generally and Uganda, specifically to the Buganda Kingdom, which is one of the foundations of Ugandan civilization. Above all, Turks are historical protectors, friends and supporters of East Africa and not enemies. During the Ottoman Caliphate in the late 1500’s, Istanbul sent an army to fight the Portuguese colonialism in East Africa.
In many centuries, Muslim and non-Muslim communities in Uganda cohabited until the arrival of the brutal Western colonialists during the second half of the 19th century, when the Imperial British East Africa Company snatched Uganda and weakened the Buganda Kingdom by removing Muslim leaders and installing into power Christian rulers whom agreed and conspired with the colonialists. From that time to date, Muslims have faced all sorts of oppressions and persecutions in Uganda.
Uganda like other African countries has many resources that do not benefit the people of Uganda but Western colonial exploitative companies, leaving the majority under extreme poverty. It is high time for Uganda to concentrate and work hard to get out of the shackles of American colonialism and engage itself on a real enemy, which is the capitalist ideology with its evil political system of democracy and its exploitative economic system, rather than dealing with negligible and petty issues of hating Islam and expulsion of Turks.
With a great honour and sincerity, we call upon General Muhoozi Kainerugaba specifically, and the people of Uganda in general, to study and investigate Islam justly and sincerely, in which they would find clear solutions in all spheres of life being implemented by the Khilafah (Caliphate) state, by which would liberate Uganda and humanity in general.
