The Hijri New Year arrives upon us on 1 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to 16/06/2026 CE. This is the date chosen by Al-Faruq Umar ibn Al-Khattab and the noble Sahabah (ra) as the calendar for the Muslims. He chose this date because it marked the birth of the first Islamic State established by our Messenger (saw) in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah.

Believing in the decree of Allah Almighty, Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Syria mourns to Muslims in general, and to the campaigners of the call in particular, Brother Omar Abdul Rahim Khatib (Abu Abdo Khatib), one of its members, from the village of Arhab in the western countryside of Aleppo, and who passed away at the age of 50, in which he spent in obedience to Allah Almighty.

The Syrian arena has recently witnessed a marked increase in tension and anger, especially among the revolution's support base, as a result of deliberate marginalization and the absence of care. This has led to the emergence of a number of intractable problems and crises, starting with the continued suffering of our people in the camps, whose tents were swept away by floods, leaving them exposed to the harsh winter conditions.
