Since 2011, the Tunisian authorities have opened the doors of their security and military apparatus to American attempts to penetrate Tunisia under the guise of "aid, training, counterterrorism, and exchange of expertise." American funds and equipment have flowed in, police, national guard, and army training programs have proliferated, and security and military coordination has deepened to the point where the development of some of our security institutions is now linked to American expertise and programs.

Today, this cooperation is renewed in its latest form with the visit of a delegation from the Tunisian  Directorate-General of Police Training to the state of Michigan this week. This visit is part of the activation of the Police Academy for Security Sciences, established through a partnership between Tunisia and the United States. This course of action will only be followed by further steps toward linking the country's security and its security and military institutions to American power and influence.

We in Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah of Tunisia clarify the following matters to our people in Al-Khadra (Tunisia):

These trainings, assistance, and exchange of expertise are no longer a passing event or limited technical cooperation between Tunisia and America. Rather, due to repetition and expansion, they have turned into an actual normalization with the American security and military presence, which reached its peak with the launch of a project to modernize the police academy in Enfidha in 2019, the permission to establish an American military facility in the city of Bizerte in 2024, and Tunisia hosting the largest military maneuvers on its soil under American leadership (AFRICOM) in 2025.

The path America proposes in the name of security and military partnership is, in reality, a path fraught with danger and traps. Its security partnership is, in reality, a threat of foreign domination and instability. We must ask: Where has America achieved security? In Iraq? In Afghanistan? In Libya? America is a colonial power that commits massacres and causes famines against Muslims worldwide, particularly in Gaza, driven by its hatred and colonial ambitions. Its hypocritical policies could drag Tunisia and the entire region into dangerous games and cause instability in North Africa. What it did in the Gulf after its aggression against Iran is a prime example of this.

The above-mentioned confirms that American aid and training serve its own interests and tighten its grip on our resources and decisions, and that submission to it leads to a slippery slope. Our only salvation lies in halting all cooperation programs with it, severing the ties of dependence on the cunning West, holding fast to the rope of Allah, following His Shariah law, and establishing governance according to what Allah has revealed under the second Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate), on the method of the Prophethood, so that we may regain our sovereignty and dignity in this world and achieve victory in the Hereafter. Allah (swt) says:

[مَّا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَلَا الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ]

“The disbelievers from the People of the Book and the polytheists would not want you to receive any blessing from your Lord, but Allah selects whoever He wills for His mercy. And Allah is the Lord of infinite bounty” [Al-Baqarah: 105].
